Abstract

Cultural humility is an emerging construct in multicultural counseling literature. This paper summarizes the authors’ experiences of cultural humility while leading groups for women in the criminal justice system, where the authors learned the value of the cultural humility framework. Ultimately, the authors demonstrate how cultural humility can lead to empowering and mutually beneficial counselor-client relationships across differences in power and privilege.
