Abstract

Working with children who are survivors of abuse and neglect can be both rewarding and heartbreaking.  Animal assisted therapy utilizing dogs, rabbits, horses or cats facilitates amazing progress on the journey of healing and recovery.  This article describes one such progression in the life of an
eight year old boy who began his journey of healing while riding a horse named Dumbledore.
