Abstract

25 years post ADA, environment barriers persist in the United States, impacting greatly on the effective socio-economic and political participation of Americans with disabilities in mainstream society.  This narrative reflects a social worker’s experience of environmental challenges in both rural and urban America and suggestions for social work practice and policy.
