Abstract

During the 197O's, Joseph Pisani was the most influential New York State legislator in the arena of childwelfare reform. But for many, his substantial accomplishments are overshadowed by his subsequent criminal conviction and public shame. Interviewing Pisani illuminates the process of social reform as well as clarifying our expectations of the nature of leadership.
