Abstract

This narrative discusses an inner city middle school counselor's therapeutic with Joey (not his real name), a traumatized 8th grade boy in the foster care system. Joey's and the counselor's feelings and thoughts are analyzed and interpreted. They are then synthesized through the counselor's supervisor applying the strengths perspective to the supervision process. This process helped to facilitate multi-dimensional growth in both Joey and the counselor as well.
