Abstract

Non-verbal communication/ interpretation of feelings is integral to the therapeutic process. Social workers learn to listen/respond to communication. Our challenge as social work practitioners is accessing skills and learning self-awareness. “Horses for Healers” helps practitioners access skills: Body language, personal space and non-verbal communication regardless of cultural or language barriers. It also develops the ability to use Cognitive Behavior Group skills.
