Abstract

This personal narrative conveys my lived experience as a licensed social worker who served as a diversity, equity, and inclusion manager at a major hospital system in the American Mid-Atlantic/Northeast region. Recognizing inequities in best meeting the needs of Asian American and Pacific Islander patients and clients, this narrative explores a personal account of lessons learned and implemented in a diversity, equity, and inclusion healthcare setting. Topics such as racism, historical trauma, health insurance, mental health, and assistive technology are explored.
