Putting a Human Face on the Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards: Claire's Narrative of Chaos.

Abstract

The following narrative describes one of the author’s experiences of dealing with a life with “mental illness.” During the course of taking a social welfare policy course, the student approached the teacher about revealing her story. It transpired that by revealing her story, the class was brought to life and a human face was put onto the concepts under discussion.
