Abstract

Understanding the impact of life experiences on the therapeutic relationship begins with self-reflection. This reflection examines the impact of the traumatic wounds experienced by me as a therapist and the journey of my wounds and healing.

Sherri Harper Woods, Youngstown State University

Dr. Sherri Harper Woods is an Assistant Professor of Social Work at Youngstown State University. She is an EMDR Trained Therapist and a Licensed Independent Social Worker with a Supervisory designation. Her areas of speciality include the integration of faith into the treatment process, trauma recovery, shame recovery, and sexual abuse recovery.
