Abstract

As the author transitioned from practitioner to researcher, she found herself questioning everything that she had based her life's work on. She leamed that doing social work was one thing; thinking about it and critically analyzing it through research was quite another. The following narrative is the story of how the author lost her faith in social work practice through researching it, and how she is now gaining it back in a different way.
